QHAZANAH SABAH BERHAD ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIRMAN AND GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (“QSB”) today announced the appointment of YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Anifah bin Aman as its Chairman, effective 12 January 2026, and Encik Mohamad Damshal Awang Damit as its Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), effective 2 February 2026.

YB Senator Tan Sri Datuk Seri Anifah Aman is a seasoned Malaysian statesman with decades of experience in public service, governance and national leadership. He previously served as Malaysia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2009 to 2018 and has held various executive and parliamentary roles at both federal and state levels. He currently serves as a Senator to the Parliament of Malaysia and as Special Advisor on International Relations and Foreign Investment to the Chief Minister of Sabah, bringing deep insight into policy, diplomacy and stakeholder engagement to his role as Chairman.

Encik Mohamad Damshal Awang Damit brings more than 30 years of experience in investment, portfolio and fund management across both Islamic and conventional mandates. His career spans senior leadership roles in leading asset management and institutional investment organisations, including Amundi Asset Management, ACA Amanie, the Social Security Organisation, Lembaga Tabung Haji and most recently Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad, where he served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer until December 2025.
