Qhazanah Sabah Berhad’s social impact arm, Yayasan Qhazanah Sabah (“YQS”), organised a gotong-royong and tree planting activity at Sri Pritchard Old Folks Home (“RWTSP”) in Papar as part of its Chinese New Year initiative on 27th February 2025. Led by Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer (“DGCEO”), Rudy Jaglul, the event saw 16 volunteers from Kelab Rekreasi Qhazanah Sabah coming together to engage with the residents as well as cleaning the home’s compound, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare.
The initiative also marked a significant contribution to sustainability, with three Brazilian lychee trees planted at the RWTSP orchard—one personally planted by the DGCEO. YQS Executive Director Majorie Noivont highlighted the importance of teamwork in fostering meaningful community engagement, while Superintendent Officer of RWTSP, Mr Jahidi Sahibin commended YQS for its efforts in uplifting the spirit of the elderly. The day ended on a heartwarming note with residents enjoying a special Chinese New Year meal, symbolising unity and shared joy.
