Qhazanah Sabah Sets In Motion The Strategies To Facilitate Sabah State's Development

18th July 2023- During a press conference that was organised by Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB) on July 17th, Chairman YB Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob has provided the media and stakeholders with updates regarding the Group’s strategy to facilitate Sabah State development agenda inline with Sabah Maju Jaya.

YB Chairman highlighted that QSB as the investment arm of Sabah State Government (SSG) must be in forefront to assist and be the enabler towards the State’s development agenda. Being a commercial entity, one of the key elements for setting the strategies into motion is financial capability. Therefore, QSB is planning to raise sufficient capital through a medium to long term sukuk programme. He pointed out, it was imperative for QSB to have funds available for the Group to carry out various projects in the near future.

During the press conference, the Chairman updated on the feasibility study for the proposed relocation of Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to Kimanis that has been completed and the result would be presented to the State Economic Planning Unit on July 20th.

Datuk Dr Yusof also announced that QSB, through its subsidiary company WH Medicare Sdn Bhd will be setting up a dialysis centre as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in Kota Kinabalu soon.

A mock cheque amounting to RM50,000.00 was presented to the President of Sabah Journalists Association (SJA), YBhg. Datuk Muguntan Vanar to commemorate QSB’s CSR initiative towards SJA to support the execution of the prestigious Kinabalu Press Awards 2023.

Also present during the event was QSB Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Rizal Dahli accompanied by senior management officials.
