Restructuring Of QSB for a Stronger, Better Governance, and a More Profitable Future.

22nd May 2023 – During a press conference that was organised in conjunction with the first 100 days with Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB), Chairman YB Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob has revealed that the restructuring of the Board of Directors and top management of QSB and its subsidiary companies has been carried out to ensure we are placing the right talent to the right job, sustainability of revenue streams, and to achieve good corporate governance targets, particularly involving the performance of each subsidiary under QSB.

The Chairman stated that the restructuring of QSB's subsidiaries aims to optimize their performance to facilitate projects in their specialized areas while maintaining good governance practices in their operations. In line with the State government’s directive, QSB has established an Integrity and Governance Unit (IGU), headed by an Integrity Officer from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). In addition, QSB has recently established a Policy and Compliance Unit to draw up relevant Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) goals group wide.

Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob also briefly outlined several strategic initiatives in the pipeline for the group which will be explored through its subsidiaries namely Angkatan Hebat Sdn Bhd, WH Medicare Sdn Bhd, WHSB Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd. In the meantime, efforts to expand mobile broadband coverage in Sabah under the Jalinan Digital Negara (JENDELA) programme is being led by Common Tower Technologies Sdn Bhd.

Upon conclusion of the press conference, the Chairman hosted a luncheon for members of the media led by SJA President, Datuk Muguntan Vanar. Also present during the event is Group Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Rizal Dahli accompanied by senior management officials.
