CORPORATE CULTURE TRAINING FOR QHAZANAH SABAH STAFF

-

KOTA KINABALU: Some 60 staff of Qhazanah Sabah Bhd (QSB), the State Government’s strategic investment arm, and its group of companies spent a day away from their work desks on Wednesday (Nov 3) for good reason.

That one day away from their offices saw them putting into practice the adage that learning is a lifelong process.

The selected staff spent the day taking part in a ‘live’ training session aimed at enabling them to deepen their understanding of QSB’s corporate values and culture.

Company executive director Tuan Hj Shukor Abdul Mumin said the corporate culture could lead QSB and its group of companies to the establishment of a success-driven organisation.

He said the training was particularly relevant in the wake of QSB’s recent rebranding exercise and amid the ongoing recovery from the Covid 19 pandemic, where a new norm and values are ought to be practiced.

“The pandemic had caused a shift in the work culture that may have led to a formulation of different thinking and mindsets among the staff. It is time to get back on track through this training,” Haji Shukor added.

He said the training also reflected the company’s long-term commitment in providing its staff with meaningful career growth and to support them in their personal development journey by developing their human capital capacity.

“QSB aims to encourage growth mindset by inculcating and disseminating positive corporate culture amongst employees that will have an impact towards philosophy, values and other related behaviour.

“These are among the basis for future learning and employability and would enable employees to decide with greater certainty which routes of continued learning and technical specialisation they would like to take, whilst keeping productivity of employees at an optimum level,” Shukor said.

He also noted that job roles would continue to be redefined in the recovery phase of the Covid-19 pandemic and staffs need to remain relevant in the job market and this would be possible through such training.

“This would only be possible by having such trainings. This is what we aim to have in Qhazanah – to grow and innovate together,” he concluded.

The training spanning over two sessions was conducted by HKS Consultants founder cum managing director Dato’ Habibul Rahman Kadir Shah.

Also present during the afternoon session is QSB Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ahmad Rizal Dahli to show his support towards employees attending the training.
