The strategic arm of Sabah State Government, Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB), is eyeing for a strategic investment expansion with Malaysia’s waste-reduce online to offline (O2O) building materials marketplace, HOMA2u, to East Malaysia.

QSB’s direction to expand its prospect of investment portfolio with HOMA2u is made possible via its active enterprising subsidiary namely Warisan Quantum Management Sdn Bhd (WQM) whereby HOMA2u’s parent company, HOMA Sdn Bhd (HOMA), is an investee company of WQM.

The prospect to expand the investment portfolio was announced during the soft opening of HOMA2u's first branch in Johor Bahru on October 16, led by Chairman of WQM, Tuan Hj. Mohd Shukor bin Abdul Mumin.

As Malaysia's O2O building materials and interior finishes marketplace, HOMA2U offers customers not just convenience in purchasing, but also a wide range of high-quality, branded, and bargains materials for their house projects. Shukor commented that the design of the whole process from purchasing to assembling the building materials are key factors in bringing back the excitement to homeowners.

“It is user friendly, and most importantly the materialisation of HOMA’s mission to acquire building materials and interior finishes products from unused construction materials,  discarded materials, and overstock markets are key to QSB’s interest in expanding the investment portfolio to East Malaysia. Investment in this type of business is in line with QSB's vision to always strive for innovation,” said Shukor.

The concept of reduce, reuse and reproduce are integral practice in promoting circular economy where unused materials can be value-added into a commercial product. Possible expansion to Sabah will serve not just as a stepping stone to kickstart circular economy, but also offers the people range of products are not yet available in Sabah ranging from choices, competitive price and product experience.
